SHAHEEN ADDS STAFF TO NEW HAMPSHIRE, WASHINGTON OFFICES

(Washington, D.C.)U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen today announced the following staff additions to her New Hampshire and Washington, D.C. offices: Jessica Chau, Legislative Correspondent; Chuck Henderson, Special Assistant for Policy and Projects; and Nell McGarity, Press Secretary.

 "I'm pleased to announce these new members of my staff who will draw on their diverse experience to serve the people of New Hampshire," said Shaheen. "They are all great additions to a staff that has been working hard across the state and in Washington, and I welcome them to the team."

Information on the new staff members follows:

 

Jessica Chau, Legislative Correspondent

Jessica Chau, a Manchester native, will focus on health care and education policy issues as a Legislative Correspondent in Senator Shaheen's Washington office.  Jessica brings extensive knowledge of New Hampshire to the Senate, having previously worked as an Associate Brand Manager at Stonyfield Farm in Manchester and a Brand Manager at Blue Seal Feeds in Londonderry. She has an MBA from McGill University and a BA in Political Science from Bates College. 

 

Chuck Henderson, Special Assistant for Policy and Projects

Chuck Henderson of Conway joins Senator Shaheen's New Hampshire staff with 40 years of entrepreneurial small business experience, and will work to serve constituents in the North Country of New Hampshire including Coos, northern Grafton, and Carroll counties.  As founder of Chuck Roast, a Conway manufacturer of fleece clothing, Chuck has many years of experience with manufacturing, exporting, wholesale and retail sales and marketing.  Henderson has also served in leadership roles of a number of non-profit boards, including the Believe in Books Literacy Foundation (The Polar Express), the Mt. Washington Valley School to Career Partnership, and The Mt. Washington Valley Economic Council.   Henderson has been active on the issue of climate change and clean energy through volunteer work with the Carbon Coalition and the Mt. Washington Valley Green Team.  Henderson was the New Hampshire SBA Small Business Person of the Year in 1996. 

Nell McGarity, Press Secretary

Nell McGarity joins Senator Shaheen's Washington office as Press Secretary, where she will serve as a liaison between media and Senator Shaheen and her staff.  Prior to joining Shaheen's office, McGarity worked for The Glover Park Group, a Washington-based communications firm, where she developed communications strategy and conducted media outreach for corporate and non-profit clients.
