TUESDAY IN LOUDON: SHAHEEN AND AGRICULTURE SECRETARY VILSACK TO ANNOUNCE EFFORTS TO BOOST NEW HAMPSHIRE RURAL ECONOMY

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will be joined by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack Tuesday, August 19, in Loudon at 2:30 p.m. to discuss how the Value Added Producers Grant program and other U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) programs will promote economic activity in rural New Hampshire and help create jobs. The Value Added Producers Grant program was developed to help farmers produce new products with their goods, create and expand marketing opportunities, and as a result, boost their revenue and income.  Resources for the Value Added Producers Grant program were increased through the bipartisan 2014 Farm Bill.
