Shaheen Statement on NH State Senator Martha Fuller Clark’s Announcement of Retirement

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) issued the following statement in response to New Hampshire State Senator Martha Fuller Clark’s (D-Portsmouth) announcement that she will not seek re-election:

“There has been no stronger voice for the health and welfare of New Hampshire families, women’s equality and our environment than Senator Martha Fuller Clark,” said Senator Shaheen. “Martha has found countless ways to give back to her State and community, including through her passionate advocacy for the arts and historic preservation. Her leadership is a great loss and will be missed tremendously in the State House. Martha continues to be a great friend who I frequently turn to for wisdom. I congratulate Martha on her incredible career in the Senate and I know she will continue to make a difference for Granite Staters in this next chapter.”
