NH veteran to get WWII medal

DERRY, N.H. (AP) - A World War II veteran from New Hampshire is to be presented with a medal he earned long ago but never received.

Milton Christian of Derry is to receive the Bronze Star on Monday in recognition of his heroic service with the 29th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. Christian was previously awarded a number of medals including the Purple Heart, but until now has not received the Bronze Star.

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen is to present the medal at Derry Municipal Center Monday afternoon.
