Shaheen Discusses Afghanistan Policy with Secretary Gates, Secretary Clinton and Chairman Mullen, December 3, 2009

During a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, Senator Shaheen questioned witnesses Secretary Gates, Secretary Clinton, and Chairman Mullen on their assessment of Afghanistan, expectations for the troop increase, and how success will be measured. In her remarks, Shaheen stressed the need for better coordination on the ground between the U.S. and NATO allies. The December 3 hearing comes as New Hampshire prepares to send nearly 150 additional National Guard Members to Afghanistan.
