Shaheen Leads ""Reopen the Government" Effort on the Senate Floor

On Tuesday evening, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Tim Kaine (D-VA) led an effort on the Senate floor calling on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to allow Senators to vote on legislation to reopen the government and stop the President’s shutdown. The speeches will be available via livestream at this link. Senators will join throughout the evening to give remarks calling on President Trump and Congressional Republicans to end the shutdown which has left more than 800,000 federal employees furloughed or working without pay and has hurt millions of Americans, including Granite State families, who cannot access government services.
