Shaheen on Fox News praises the release of Pastor Andrew Brunson. Senator Shaheen helped lead bipartisan efforts in Congress to secure Pastor Andrew Brunson’s freedom and raise the cases of other Americans and U.S. embassy employees arrested, teaming up with Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC), James Lankford (R-OK) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC). They had worked across the aisle to push for Brunson’s release. Senator Shaheen visited Turkey in July and met with Pastor Brunson as well as President Erdogan, whom the Senator pressed for Pastor Brunson’s release.
