SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON IRAN LEGISLATION

(WASHINGTON, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement on unanimous passage of the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015 in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee:

“All members of the Senate share the same goal: ensuring that Iran does not develop a nuclear weapon. I continue to believe the ongoing P5+1 negotiations are the best way to reach that goal. The bipartisan legislation I voted on today ensures Congress plays a vital role in reviewing the implementation of a final deal with Iran that would impact congressionally-mandated sanctions. This bill is the product of bipartisan compromise, and I hope that cooperation will continue when it is considered by the full Senate.”
