U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will honor Executive Councilman Ray Burton’s years of service to New Hampshire and North Country residents during a dedication ceremony at the new Mount Washington Scenic Overlook in Bretton Woods at 1:15 p.m. tomorrow, November 1. Shaheen will be joined by a bipartisan group of current and former Granite State officials at the event in the North Country.
Earlier, Shaheen will discuss her efforts to bolster New Hampshire small businesses and entrepreneurship during a tour of the recently opened Enterprise Center at Plymouth at 11:00 a.m. The Enterprise Center is a collaborative effort by Plymouth State University and the Grafton County Economic Development Council (GCEDC) that offers resources to businesses such as technical assistance, business counseling and leased space to help them grow and succeed. Shaheen was a lead advocate for the construction of the Enterprise Center at Plymouth, which received a $781,250 grant from the federal Economic Development Administration in 2012 toward its creation.
Shaheen will also attend the 6th Annual North Country Public Safety Foundation (NCPSF) Banquet at 6:00 p.m. at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods. The NCPSF raises funds to support public safety officers and their families in Coos and Grafton Counties during times of need.
