New Hampshire Air National Guard Lauded at Senate Armed Services Committee Hearing

(Washington, DC) – Today, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, discussed the importance of Pease Air National Guard base in New Hampshire and the deployment of the new KC-46A Aerial Refueling Tankers at a hearing on the nominations of General Darren W. McDew, USAF, to be commander of U.S. Transportation Command and General Paul J. Selva, USAF, to be Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Shaheen, who has been a strong supporter of Pease’s bid to host the new tankers, heard from McDew about the impressive accomplishments of the men and women of the New Hampshire Air National Guard. Shaheen and McDew also noted that Pease and the New Hampshire Air National Guard serve as an important model of the integration between the guard and active duty components. Later in the hearing, McDew also confirmed that Pease would receive twelve new KC-46A Aerial Refueling Tankers by December of 2017.
