(Londonderry, NH) – Today, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) visited Matthew Thornton Elementary School to read the book Grace for President to students to highlight Women’s History Month. Grace for President sends a positive message to children about the importance of civic engagement and the vital role women play in our democracy. Shaheen took questions from the class and discussed her experience as a woman in public service.

“It’s absolutely critical for our nation that women continue to play a greater role in public discourse and decision making,” said Shaheen. “Throughout our nation’s history, women have made invaluable contributions to all aspects of our society. This Women’s History Month we should all take a moment to reflect on the many ways women have helped form our great nation and encourage the young women and girls around us that they too can do something great for their country.”
