PHOTO RELEASE: SHAHEEN TRIP TO AFGHANISTAN

U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) took a two-day trip through Afghanistan, which included a visit to the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region and meetings with U.S. troops, Special Operations forces, U.S. military leaders, and high-level Afghan government officials, including Afghan President Hamid Karzai.  She met with New Hampshire citizens serving overseas and thanked them for their service. Shaheen was joined on the trip by Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-MI), who invited Shaheen to participate in it, and Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR).
