SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON GOSS SETTLEMENT

(Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen today released the following statement regarding Goss International's settlement with Japanese company Tokyo Kikai Seisakusho Ltd. (TSK).  Shaheen has worked with members of the New Hampshire and Maine Congressional delegations to ensure fair trade laws for Goss and other U.S. companies that compete globally.  Shaheen also made contact on Goss' behalf with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

"It is very welcome news that Goss and TKS were able to reach agreement to end their years-long trade dispute.  This agreement is critical to keeping jobs in the United States, and I want to thank Secretary Clinton and Trade Representative Kirk for their quick response to this matter.  We must do everything we can to maintain a level playing field for American businesses competing in a global economy."
