Shaheen recommended Rice’s nomination to President Obama

(Washington, D.C.) - U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement after the Senate approved by a voice vote, the nomination of Emily Gray Rice to serve as U.S. Attorney for the District of New Hampshire:

“I recommended Emily for the position of U.S. Attorney because of her exceptional qualifications,” said Shaheen. “Her credentials ensured that her nomination was considered by the Senate quickly and without controversy. I want to extend my congratulations to Emily on her Senate approval. I have no doubt that she will work tirelessly to fulfill the responsibilities of this post.”

Ms. Rice replaces New Hampshire’s acting U.S. Attorney, Donald Feith. In June, Senator Shaheen recommended Rice’s nomination to President Obama.
