SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF KAYLA MUELLER

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement on the death of Kayla Mueller an American hostage held by ISIS:

“I’m deeply saddened by Kayla Mueller’s death and my thoughts are with all of Kayla’s family and loved ones. Kayla was a humanitarian aid worker who dedicated her life to helping those in need. She embodied the caring and giving spirit that represents the best of our country.

“ISIS has proven themselves time and time again to be nothing but cowardly murderers bent on a twisted ideology that knows no moral bounds. We must recommit to destroying this barbaric group and bringing to justice those who bear responsibility for the deaths of Kayla Mueller, James Foley, Steven Sotloff and so many other innocents.”
