Senator Jeanne Shaheen joined an Air National Guard refueling mission stationed out of New Hampshire's Pease Air National Guard Base. Shaheen, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, was on board as crew members carefully guided a mission to refuel another military plane thousands of feet above ground. Shaheen praised the effort of the crew on board, adding "It's very impressive to see the skill involved and the dedication and commitment of our Guard." Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Kelly Ayotte announced that the Department of Veterans Affairs will relocate the Manchester Veterans Center to a newly renovated facility in Hooksett. The new center will increase the facility's space from 2,220 square feet to 4,975 square feet and will feature new space for physical therapy, educational activities and group meetings. Shaheen and Ayotte sent a joint letter to Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki this week urging his department to approve a contract that would allow the Vets Center to relocate.
