Thursday at UNH: Shaheen to Host U.S Senate Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee Field Hearing on Net Neutrality

U.S Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), a member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, will host a Committee Field Hearing on net neutrality at 10:00 a.m. at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. Net Neutrality: Impacts on New Hampshire Small Businesses will examine the effects of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) repeal of net neutrality protections on New Hampshire’s small businesses. As a current member of the committee and a former small business owner, Shaheen understands the importance of putting small businesses first. Senator Shaheen has repeatedly expressed concern that repealing net neutrality rules would end equal access to an open and free internet, resulting in higher prices, lower speeds and other barriers to growth for small businesses in New Hampshire and across the country.

Media planning to attend should RSVP to josh_marcus-blank@shaheen.senate.gov.
